CALL FOR ARTISTS
Peter and the Wolf Workshop Development
Untellable Movement Theatre
Untellable Movement Theatre is seeking strong movers who also play acoustic instruments to take part in the workshop development of our movement-theatre adaptation of Peter and the Wolf.
This project is theatre for young audiences, combining physical storytelling, live music, and ensemble-driven creation. The workshop phase will focus on research, exploration, and development of the adaptation, with the intention that this process will lead to a full production.
This production integrates physical theatre and live music, so we are especially interested in mover-musicians who are comfortable performing musically onstage while engaging in choreographed or improvised movement.
Preference will be given to artists who play traditional acoustic instruments, such as guitar, fiddle, mandolin, bodhran, accordion, tin whistle, recorder, and other related folk or orchestral instruments.
All work on this project is paid.
We are especially interested in artists who:
Have a strong background in dance, movement, or physical theatre
Play one or more acoustic and/or folk instruments (strings, winds, tin whistle, accordion, mandolin)
Are interested in collaborative, ensemble-based creation
Have schedule flexibility and interest in continuing with the project beyond the workshop phase, should it move forward
To apply, please include:
A brief summary of your experience with dance and/or movement
The instrument(s) you play and your level of proficiency
Anything else you think we should know about you or your practice
A short response to the following question:
If you are not selected for this workshop, would you be interested in being considered for future Untellable Movement Theatre projects?
The collaborative creative team for this production includes:
Lynn Panting — Producer, Director, and Choreographer, through Untellable Movement Theatre
Philip Goodridge — Writer
Kyle McDavid — Composer
