The Station

A New Work of Devised Movement Theatre

Produced by Watching the Detectives in Partnership with Untellable Movment Theatre

Created and Performed by Philip Goodridge & Jaimie Tait
Directed by Lynn Panting

About the Show

The Station is a 30-minute, post-apocalyptic movement performance told entirely without words.

Set in a mysterious, echoing substation in a dystopian future, two isolated workers carry out an endless, monotonous routine.

About the Process

The Station was born from a shared creative spark between Philip Goodridge and Jaimie Tait. Drawing inspiration from Viewpoints, a movement-based technique for performance creation, they spent months improvising, exploring shape, tempo, duration, and spatial relationships.

Through this process, the story began to emerge. As the improvisations deepened, the team invited director Lynn Panting to help craft a clearer arc and refine the piece into a cohesive, audience-ready work.

The Station had its first workshop viewing on February 1, 2026.
