ABOUT GROUNDWORK

Groundwork is a two-day festival of dance and movement-based performance produced by Untellable Movement Theatre and Cameo.

Built on an ethically non-curated model, the festival invites artists to share space rather than compete for it. Groundwork prioritizes community, artistic autonomy, and the belief that a thriving dance ecology requires many voices.

In a time when opportunities for artists can feel limited, Groundwork operates from a different premise: there is room for all of us.

By bringing artists and audiences together in one place, the festival offers a chance to experience the diversity of movement practice happening in our province today.

ABOUT UNTELLABLE MOVEMENT THEATRE

Untellable Movement Theatre creates and produces professional dance and movement theatre that connects artists and audiences in unexpected ways.

The company focuses on innovative performance, collaborative creation, and making movement accessible to a broad public. Untellable’s work often explores interdisciplinary approaches and community engagement, prioritizing artistic process as much as artistic product.

Through performances, residencies, and festivals like Groundwork, Untellable Movement Theatre aims to strengthen the visibility and sustainability of dance in Newfoundland and Labrador.
