Groundwork Audiences
Audiences matter deeply.
We are committed to supporting existing dance audiences while also inviting new people into the fold: folks who may be curious about dance, unsure how to watch it, or attending a dance performance for the first time.
There is no single “right” way to watch dance. You don’t need prior knowledge, technical language, or experience to be here. You’re invited to bring your attention, your curiosity, and your own way of making meaning.
To support this, Untellable has created a Guide to Watching Dance, designed to make dance feel more accessible, less intimidating, and more open to interpretation..
Visiting Groundwork
Groundwork Dance Festival takes place at LSPU Hall, affectionately known as The Hall, located at 3 Victoria Street, St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Hall is a familiar and well-loved community venue in downtown St. John’s. It’s an informal, welcoming space.
New to The Hall?
If this is your first time visiting, you’re not alone. The Hall has created a visual guide and social story to help you know what to expect before you arrive.
The guide is designed to support:
First-time visitors
Neurodivergent audience members
